Waitrose Community Matters
Thank you for all your support during our stint as one of Waitrose's Community Matters charities.
The RNLI received 35% of the votes, leading to a donation of £26,325. That's enough to cover average crew training costs for a year at an all-weather lifeboat station. Or to buy a four-wheel-drive vehicle to help RNLI lifeguards keep you safe on the beach.
Thanks once again, to everyone who voted, and to Waitrose for this vital donation.

The Recycling Factory has been in partnership with the RNLI since 2008, helping to raise vital funds through the recycling of used:
In 2012, with the generous support of RNLI supporters, the partnership raised in excess of £152,000. This year the scheme is on course to exceed this figure, adding to the partnership's already impressive running total of over £500,000 - a figure that would not be achievable without RNLI supporters everywhere. So thank you.

Aberdeen and the RNLI
The Cowes Lifeboat Station Appeal was launched in 2011 and Aberdeen Asset Management was keen to get involved, as it was already sponsor of the Cowes Week sailing regatta.
The company funded the creation of the station’s new balcony and representatives from Aberdeen were present last July to see Her Majesty The Queen and Prince Philip officially open the new lifeboat station as part of The Queen’s extended Jubilee Tour.
Aberdeen Asset Management is sponsoring Cowes Week until 2015 and is keen to continue its support of the station and its crew wherever possible. A spokesperson said: 'The service provided by the RNLI 24 hours a day is incredibly important to all those who work and play on the water and we are very proud to support its work as part of our charitable activities and our sponsorship of Cowes Week.'

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has been a corporate supporter of the RNLI for over 40 years. An RNLI volunteer, Howard Bell (and his wife, Poppy) started fundraising onboard the cruise ships in the 1960s and the relationship has grown since then.
Through the wonderful and continued support of the Fred. Olsen passengers and crews, they have have funded several inshore lifeboats. The last B-774 Braemar, which went on service in 2001, bought three mobile training units, kitted out three seminar rooms at RNLI College and raised the funds for the development of the Atlantic 85 DODO (drive-on-drive-off) trolleys, in addition to funding three trolleys at Mudeford, Cullercoats and Criccieth.
In 2009, a further £91,000 was raised, helping them reach their latest target of £150,000 to fund the new Atlantic 85 lifeboat for Kyle of Lochalsh, which went on service in 2011.
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines pride themselves on providing a very personal service on their four distinctive vessels: Braemar, Black Watch, Boudicca and Balmoral. So just remember, you can enjoy a relaxing cruise and help fundraise for the RNLI at the same time.
Rachael Jackson, Public Relations Manager for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, comments: 'Fundraising for the RNLI has become an institution on all our ships, and it is very rewarding to know that the generosity of our passengers and crew has achieved so much this year.'
